Prior to founding the firm, he was a litigator at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. in Minneapolis for 6 years, and has successfully litigated highly-complex intellectual property and commercial cases against some of the largest and most well-funded companies in the world. He is a trial attorney trained by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and has experience in all aspects of litigation. Nick's practice is focused on the representation of individuals and businesses in commercial, intellectual property, and personal injury litigation.Nick is a nearly fifteen-year resident of Minnesota, and a graduate of both Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota Law School. During law school, he was a member of the Minnesota Law Review, and graduated magna cum laude in May of 2000. When not representing his clients, you can find him spending time with his family, or playing one of the Minneapolis area's many fine golf courses. Selected Results Counsel in TV Interactive Data Corporation v. Microsoft Corp., No. C02-02385 (N.D. Ca., filed May, 2002). Nick was part of a team which sued Microsoft on behalf of TVI, a small California technology company, asserting that Microsoft's Windows operating system software products infringed several patents covering apparatus and methods for autoplaying media on insertion. Plaintiff accused all versions of Windows from Windows 95 forward of infringement. The case settled in October 2005 with Microsoft taking a license under the patents.
